It's Been Rather Quiet

Due to my shoulder injury, the first half of this year has been relatively quiet with not a lot happening.

We had a weekend away at Broadwater Park with the family and one thing that had to be done was erect the annexe to make sure it was all ok, seems ages since we had picked it up.

Then it was Easter , so to keep family traditions alive, we had to make our Easter chocolates. When our girls were young, they always made Easter chocolates with their grandma.

The Easter weekend was spent away with the 4wd club at Kenilworth.

Good campsite, good campfires, and some pleasant driving. Add the great company and a wonderful week away.

Once Easter was over time to start the painting of the house.

Queens Birthday long weekend was spent with friends at Peach Trees. This has always been a favourite campsite for us so six wonderful days of relaxing, a little driving and once again good company.

End of June saw us taking Izzy to see "Disney on Ice". She loved it.

Double Island Beach has always been one of our very special places and we planned a weekend with the family to introduce the grandchildren to this wonderful beach. We camped at the Caravan Park at Noosa North Shore and used Humbie to drive up the beach. Family and their friends in their caravans, tents, and us in the camper trailer.

Isabel and Grandpoo collecting coloured sand.

On our next trip we spent a few days at Eumundi and then moved on to Kinbombi Falls. A great spot .

Camping on the Beach

For the last few years either us or our house-sitter daughter have been travelling overseas in February when our 4wd club friends make their annual pilgrimage to Double Island Beach. This year, we could make it and we just love the feeling of being camped right on the beach. Nothing beats it. Naturally it's a camper trailer trip with the Nissan. And this year we stayed a fortnight

That wonderful feeling when you hit the beach.

We even had our own "staircase to the moon"

And our own rainbow

A trip up the beach and over the Leisa Track to the bay

Nice to sit round our little fire and enjoy "happy hour"

The view from our camp

A wonderful time and lucky for us the day we left the beach Cyclone Marcia formed. Perfect timing.

An Overnighter

While camping in our vans at Gordon Country, Goomburra for our 4wd Christmas Party we decided that in the New Year we would do a quick two day trip round northern New South Wales ,

Friends joined us and we really enjoyed our two days. Basic camping, them with a tent, Poo and I in our swags.
