Which Direction do we Go
Hiccups kept making our plans change. We were to travel south to the Hawkesbury, then turn west to South Australia. But by the time we actually got away, reports of cold southern weather made our decision easy. We would go north.
Our first night out was spent at Bowenville Reserve. A great free camp.
On then, next stop Judds Lagoon at Yuleba.
We moved on to Morven, and seeing it was raining, we decided to rest up for an extra day.
Next overnightstop was Blackall, then because we had never been to Isisford, we decided to head that way. a nice little town.
Other than fuel, we passed through Longreach, having been there before. Found a great campspot down behind the Macsland Rest Area.
Time for a walk around Winton, and a trip to the bakery.
The famous Gregory Hotel
Have always wanted to see the Combo Waterhole, so made the trip. Very peaceful.
The Cobb & Co route
Moved on towards Kyuna and made camp in a gravel pit. They sure make good campsites.
Kyuna, with its Brolgas.
Remember Crocodile Dundee
We stopped at the Cloncurry Caravan Park and made a trip out to Corella Dam and then to what is left of the town of Mary Kathleen
The monument to Burke and Wills
Julia Creek was out next freecamp and it's a great place to camp.
"
We then made the trip out to the Burdekn Dam. Really enjoyed our time there.
Then spent a few hours in Ravenshoe.
Once in Townsville, we walked along the Strand and found a dog bath, great to see him clean again.
After a stop at HomeHill, where the publican allowed us to dine with Koby in the beergarden
