This trip we travelled with one of our daughters and her partner, plan being to enjoy New York , then hire a car and drive to Niagara Falls, Toronto and then on to Chicago together. We would then split, they would travel to Mt.Rushmore and up into Canada, we would hire a car and travel across America on Route 66 and we would meet in Los Angeles for the flight home.
So we picked up the car and quite easily found our way out of New York. Stayed in the town of Henrietta that night and then moved on to Buffalo where we viewed the Niagara Falls from the American side.
We then travelled across the Rainbow Bridge into Canada to see the view from that side.
While sitting in the cafe overlooking the falls having lunch, we made the decision that rather than taking a flight over the falls, we would try for a room overlooking the falls in the closest hotel to the view. Well our luck was in and we were able to get the corner suite, second floor from the top at the Embassy Suites at Fallsview Hilton, which meant we were on the 41st floor. Wow what a view!
We went out for dinner then went to look at the falls under floodlights
We came back to earth next morning and headed for Toronto. Our mission was to go to the top of the Toronto CN Tower. 113 storeys to the glass floor, with the lookout level another floor above.
Great view from the top
View over Lake Ontario
We wandered the streets of Toronto and watched them enjoying the ice
We moved onto London, Ontario where we stayed then next morning it was over the border at Sania into Michigan USA then into Illionis and the city of Chicago. Great days.
